With its motto of “Unity and Discipline”, the National Cadet Corps aims to create organized,
trained and motivated youths by developing qualities of leadership, team spirit, secular
outlook, ideas of selfless service and spirit of adventure.
The activities of the NCC are broadly divided into Institutional Training, Community
Development Programme cum Social Service Activities, Youth Exchange Programme, Adventure
Training and Sports.
NCC “C” certificate cadets receive benefits in the form of reserved vacancies for commission
in the Defence Forces, namely the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. Scholarships
are also available for deserving NCC cadets who excel in academics.
The college provides opportunities for students to be a part of this unique organization.
Cadets actively participate in Independence Day and Republic Day parades. The college has
a Senior Wing unit of 61 Meghalaya Girls NCC Battalion. One Assistant NCC Officer (ANO) of the
rank of Lieutenant is in charge of this unit.
